  • Hey U look like the dude from Jackass, just a little humor, peace !

  • Lovely vocalization, Dan. Very emotive. Enjoyed your performance much.

  • best cover of this song on youtube!

  • Dan....This is the most heartfelt passionate version of hickory wind that I have ever heard......A fellow Gram fan.

  • That was from the heart. Thanks.

    I enjoyed it.

You need to make the trip to Waycross, Ga. visit the GP tribute. Check it out on line. Gret show. Thanks again

  • There is NO proof of her claim. Sylvia says she sold it to Vanguard Records in 1963 -- but she has no recording of it, no proof, and has never had any other songs published. Hmmm.

Your claim that Gram "was caught" and "forced to pay damages" is fantasy. Sylvia doesn't even claim that. There was never any legal action, no case filed, no nothing. Just the story of a woman who thinks that it was her song.

  • Where did you acquire this information? Never heard a word about it, nor am I able to find any info to support your statement, that includes checking with ASCAP & BMI. I was a Nashville recording engineer and songwriter for 18 years .. a story like that would have gotten around!

  • Nice Dan! Excellent feeling. Rick

  • Unfortunately, the "great" Gram Parsons didn't write this. A blind woman named Sylvia Sammons did, and Gram "borrowed" it until he was caught and forced to pay damages and purchase the rights, since he'd told everyone he wrote it by then.

  • nice!
