to let you know, the song is not ripping apart americans... it is about a young italian man that wants to be an american. he tries to eat and drink and smoke only what americans do (or did when the song was written 50 years ago). in america there are franco-philes, anglo-philes, and italo-philes. this poor italian guy was just an ameri-phile and nobody could understand why.

The song rips on Italians who act like americans. Drinking whisky and soda, listening to rock and roll and somking camel cigarettes that leaves his mother broke. The italian sentiment was that Americans were too comlicated! Imagine that?!?!

Thank you for your clarification. The people in the video were very nice so I didn't really think they were making fun of Americans. Either way it was entertaining and pretty funny.
