Cool. This is great to look at from 2006, knowing what we've learned since then about how the brain works and all the studies that have shown that "Genius" as we know it doesn't really exist - that it is still a combination of deliberate practice, quality training and mentorship, and of course passion to continue with it...which in 2006 it looks like he was doing all-the-time! constantly thinking of musical patterns, constantly writing them down - which is amazing to be that dedicated. Cheers!

You're a Composer Harry....

@ijdow Jay shows the heights of what the human mind can accomplish. You show the low points, you sad and pathetic waste of space.
-
@ijdow Being normal is for boring people, those who have no determination to actually achieve their lifelong goals. He's just determined, don't hate or judge another's hard work please.

A good argument for past lives. Throughout history and today there's been many instances where people are proficient in something practically at birth. There's been many children who speak foreign languages before the age of 4, without ever hearing or being taught them. Maybe Jay is one such person.
Poor kid is surrounded by idiots in The Juilliard School. His classmates are holding him back. :P
