R.I.P....DJ K-Swift [July 21st 2008]

Popular female DJ K-Swift died this morning (July 21) in a swimming pool accident in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland AllHipHop.com has learned.




K-Swift, born Khia Edgerton, was just 28-years-old, at the time of her death, although she started DJ'ing at the age of 11, due to the influence of other pioneering DJ's like Cocoa Channel and Jazzy Joyce.




K-Swift broke ground on Baltimore's Radio One station 92Q Jams, where she rose to Female Mix Show Coordinator and was the only female in the country to hold the title.




She was also a member of the Violator-All Star DJ Coalition, as well as a member of the all female squad the Murda Mami's.




"I'm at a loss for words right now," Murda Mami founder 1st Lady El told AllHipHop.com. "K-Swift was not only one of my Murda Mami sisters, she was a great friend. She knocked down doors for women in this industry, so humble and hard working. Legendary in the club music scene and the number one DJ in Baltimore. She will be missed."

she was throwing a pool party for her friends birthday, it was an above ground pool, she introduced my band to play at the party, she made jokes bout my guitar, coolest chic ever..unfortunately, she dove strait down the pool and came up half conscious, atfirst nobody knos whats up, then ppl started panicking and screaming, she was taken away by ambulance, and pronounced dead 40mins later..

Its a true blessing when you can affect people life in such a great way. K swift really tuched the hearts of many. Im 25 and i use to be a real club hopper but now im saved. We hear and feeL the pain of loved ones dying everyday and yet we will not take it serious like that couldnt have been us. These are our last days hopefully her life or death wont be in vain im praying that somebody will see just how fast you can go!Life can be just as fun if you serve him ima wittness. RIP K SWIFT

Still remember going to The Tunnel on Eutah Street and seeing Swift play there when I first moved to Baltimore. She was a great person and an inspiration to everyone around here.

i only ever listened to tote it and i never really learned about her but she seemed like a good lady. was she a dj or what? who sings the song like this one is a guy and then the one on tote it is a guy so ya idk
