The Idiot (2003) (English subtitles). Part 7/10.
The Idiot is TV series drama produced by TV Channel "Russia" in 2003 based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel with the same title.
Upon Prince Myshkin's return to St. Petersburg from an asylum in Switzerland, he becomes beguiled by the lovely young Aglaya, daughter of a wealthy father. But his deepest emotion is for the wanton, Nastasia. The choices all are forced to make lead to great tragedy.
The series was branded by the novel's original pre-1920's orthography title "идіотъ" (in all caps) instead of the current "идиот" as one will find it on the bookshelves in Russia (to promote the atmosphere of the tsarist time when the film's plot takes place).
The series consists of 10 sequels each approximately 50 minutes.

same goes for Nastasia, she has an expressive face. and she quite of fited the role. she's playing pretty well. as for Miskin, the prince i suppose he could play a little bit as an "idiot", another bit with the head between the clouds. But the movie it's pretty much as the book, repspetcing the lines and the facts. Good movie for those who don't have the patience to read the book.
