  • Great performance!

One thing I've noticed after watching several videos is that are some settings where the guitar and fiddle are well-balanced, and others where the guitar is overpowered. I think this one fell into the latter category. The guitar really adds a lot to the overall sound. jmho.

  • Couple of things: Tatiana is playing a 5 string fiddle which has a louder & deeper tone than a regular fiddle, also the cross tuning adds to the loudness, fullness of her violin sound. Plus I find that with Old Time music you can't do much to make the guitar part interesting, that's why I prefer accompanying Celtic tunes.

  • Omg Quinns Amazing!

  • yup! not only did I not know the tune, this was the first time we played just the two of us, this was the one and only video take plus it's also not my favorite style (old time), Don't get me wrong, I do like old time fiddle, but for accompanying on guitar I much prefer Celtic... when we go to old-time jams I always bring my mandolin, because playing guitar to the old time tunes is pretty boring...
