Elizabeth Peters / Barbara Micheals (her two writing names) is the best. I first read her in high school in the late 70s and still enjoy her all these years later. Her books are a fun light read.

Make sure you read all the Amelia Peabody books by Elizabeth Peters . . . the audio books read by Barbara Rosenblat are awesome.
