I think as we go on we see more and more that there are things that do not jive with einstein's laws, faster than light particles and energies, etc. But in many other ways his laws have been proven to be 100% predictive of many many things. I think his base theories will hold up but we will add more to them as our understanding and observation capabilities enable us to discover more strange things in our universe.

Seductive theory eh??

Lol "Ask me a hundred years from now..."
You won't be alive!!

@jamybrainy You bet! :)

It wasn't his ego, he was a humble man, it was mostly his faith, he couldn't accept according to his own view of God, that He 'plays with dice'. The idea that he could be wrong or could be right, has nothing to do with the existence of God.
The idea here, no theory is completely correct, it's a chain of ideas, like a turn based scavenger hunt. The Theory of Relativity and Quantum Theory are not each completely correct, but each one of them has some point of correct ideas.

@SamuelDunn1968 String theory relies on the fact that these strings, strings of energy, are the ultimate building blocks of everything.

What if Einstein was wrong?and thats why his theory of relativity doesn't f it. Everyone thought Newton was completely right for 250 years because his equation worked. We may find out Einstein was also a little mistaken, but his ego didint allow him to think his theory was wrong, so he tried to solve this using his theory of relativity.

@ AcousticDude So, even though we may not call him the "greatest", he's atleast amongst the greatest. Plus, there's no scientist that can be labelled "the greatest". Every scientist's contribution is like a stepping stone for the new generation of brilliant minds!

@AcousticDude17 While what you are saying might be true (about the 'intensely' important things that he discovered), lets not forget the time period in which he did achieved things. The society during his time wasn't exactly open minded when it came to accepting new ideas, and he wasn't well equipped with special instruments to conduct tests either! Newton's also famous for his work on light (Principia) & heat too. The story of the apple is just the tip of the iceberg.
OH MY GOD, THIS IS BLOWING MY MIND!! and i have a rather big one too. i think id better be understanding spacetime before this stuff

@yaitsmenaren
Agreed, saying any scientist is the greatest of them all is just absurd, and underestimating Newton's work is even worse, people you just have to understand, without the earliest laws that are now obsolete, we would have never gotten here.=
