Kara Swisher is Not Keen on News Corp Takeover of Dow Jones....And the Bancrofts Seem to Agree
Kara Swisher, a longtime reporter and columnist at the Wall Street Journal, is one of the most influential technology journalists/author. She has also built a hugely successful conference business "D" for the Dow Jones Company. Just last week, she launched a blog with colleague Walt Mossberg. The new blog has lots of really good videos.
I spoke with her this morning on Hollywood Boulevard outside the the AlwaysOn OnHollywood conference where Kara moderated a panel with Kevin Rose, Arianna Huffington and Alan Citron.
I asked Kara about the prospect of a News Corp bid for the Dow Jones company. Like many of her colleagues at the Journal, she is not too thrilled.
It seems that the Bancroft family, which controls Dow Jones, is not too thrilled either. The Wall Street Journal just reported that the Bancroft family is "taking no" action on the Murdoch bid. Here's an update on Bloomberg.
We'll see.

Sorry to tell you, but the Nazis were socialists, just like the most adamant Fox opponents -- who hate any limitation on the state.

How can the Bancroft Family allow the sale of the Dow Jones company to the modern equivilent of Julius Streicher? This bodes poorly for the United States of America as a whole and our financial markets in general

Wrong, Kara. The Bancrofts have ruined the Journal. Murdoch is your last hope. He is a visionary. He is offering a future.
