They complain about homophobic behavior & attitudes show towards them by A SELECT FEW (supposedly) str8 people.
MOST STR8 PEOPLE DONT GIVE A DAMN if someones gay.
I'm not sure what these "special rights" are you speak of?? A gay couple have no extra rights that str8 couples dont have.
IT'S CALLED EQUALITY & "BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS".

Messages should never be changed. I believe in freedom of speech, what ever it is. People can burn a flag if they want to. If there is a statement that is just so appalling that the general public gets offended by it, who ever said it is going to be the one that looks stupid. Pointing out the stupidities of others, in my opinion, will work better and more ethically than censoring people.
