This video simulates the use of LP30 laser interferometer to measure positioning on CNC machine axis with 10 nm resolution. The axis should stop 1 sec between consecutive measurements. The system automatically checks if machine vibrations negatively affect the measurement. The lower window shows the position to be reached and displayed by the CNC, the upper window displays the value measured thanks to the Doppler effect due to the relative displacement between the interferometer and the reflector. This check should be repeated for each machine axis.
