The Buddha was once asked by a deva what constituted the highest blessings. 1  Not to associate with fools, to assoicate ih the wise. 2. To reside in a suitable locality, done meritorious actions in the past and set oneself in the right course. 3. Vast learning, perfect handicraft, trained discipline and pleasant speech. 4 Support parents and cherishing family and peaceful occupation. 5. Liberality, righteous conduct, helping relative and blameless actions.6. To cease and abstain from evil, No intoxicants and virtue.7. Opportune to hearing of Dhamma. Patience and obedience in sight of the Samanas. 8. Self control, holy life and perception of the Noble truths. 9. mind does not flutter by external contacts.
