This is local Media Coverage of the Great Miami Tornado of May 12th 1997. Although this tornado was only an EF-1, it was very large and quite photogenic as it tore through the streets of Downtown Miami and across the Venetian Causeway. As you watch this you can listen to some of the eyewitness reports from both the public and the local media and you will truly see why they call Miami, The Banana-Boat-Republic.
