I know nothing about the blues, but I've heard a lot of this guy's stuff on Pandora and I feel it in my bones.
Freaking genius.

Does anyone else think his vocals sound a bit like Howlin Wolf? :)

This is a travesty, I hear that they're going to start culling badgers again?

Thanks for posting this! It's some DEEP blues. And that's a wild guitar.

Great post!!! Great Alvin... keep on bluesin ;)

From him comes the blues and how we pine. for so hard the sound will fly that no other will shine. Deep it finds home, in the soul you feel the shake, like the cry of thunder your soul feels awake.

keb' mo' is better

There ain't no better or worse, there's only different. I like both of them myself.

Alvin gets overlooked, man. He's far more talented than Keb' Mo' and writes better songs. Cory Harris and Alvin are where it's at in modern Blues.

Alvin is out of Memphis but to my knowledge doesn't play there regularly. He recently accompanied Bo Diddley on tour, accompanying the backup band as well as stepping out for his own set. He tours regularly you might check out his myspace page.
