I love the way he stares! Almost Voyeuristic! Not that I particularly support the idea of the Watson/Holmes sexual chemistry, but I would have LOVED to be inside Holmes's great mind during this scene!

And yes, there are a fair few who believe they were or want them together. To me, it's more like they were plantonic life partners. But it's all a bit of harmless, fun speculation at most. x)

@l0neghost - thumbs up to that. While I believe I understand Mikisnas' intention in their comment, I think perhaps another word could be used in place of 'rape'. As a aside, I am shocked how many people want Holmes and Watson to get together, as it were.

Anyone else notice that Holmes didn't blink once throughout this clip? As if he literally could not take his eyes off of Watson. Dear Holmes, subtle really is not your strong suit.

Jeremy Brett was brilliant, but just a little tiny bit camp. It doesn't spoil his Holmes, but it does make you wonder what he & Watson got up to off-camera
