This was really well staged and obviously well put together and choreographed, but some of the applications shown were just too over the top and struck me as way too movie inspired.
For me, the bearhug escape at 3:05 via the double knifehand slap to the thigh was the most absurd, simply because it wouldn't work and isn't really the most efficient way to get out of that with your hands free.
A good performance but not all of these applications were built on solid fighting principles.
I see Bunkai as to have different stages. One would be aTechnical aplication of the Kata, wich this video cleraly represents. From there you have to work the different Ippon Kumites separately to make them work. Wich this representation covers perfectly. Once you are proficent on that, understanding each techniques from the kata you can start workin in more realistic and free application. My philosophy is that everything has something usefull or positive, you can learn from everything.Nice job.
Thank you for your humble non-fanatical replies. Thank you for reading everything I typed and not resorting to abusive obscene language. I didn't realise I was choosing to disagree with the revealed truth of God. As I said previously, I guess looking at competition footage is a big mistake on my part, so my mistake.
Ctuxford just shut your mouth all right? what the fuck do you mean how will thi shelp your students? too staged? I bet your students cannot even do this?
This is not the type of bunkai I'm looking for. How will this help my students defend themselves? Too stylised. In my opinion, please don't call something bunkai if it is of no true practical use for the least of students who would research it. I guess looking at competition footage is a big mistake on my part, so my mistake!
Is it really Goju Ryu? I think it is Shito ruy?

@PakDaeHan From the way you are speaking, you are not a martial artist so please never post on a martial youtube channel again...

@CTuxford You have students? Please, if you are a sensei, reconsider your attitude.
