  • @gigiontube The Drum in this machine is Stainless, not aluminum. I have had one for 4 years and it performs beautifully.

Believe what you want to believe. Aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's disease and is very toxic in general, and I would stay away from it, especially when food is rubbed against it in the process of making, as it's the case with making ice cream.

Personally, I bought the italian machine, Lello 4080 Musso Lussino 1.5-Quart. It is more expensive, but is all SS and makes excellent ice cream. If I did not afford it, I would have made ice cream in freezer or use a manual ice cream machine.

  • @gigiontube In the UK this machine is approx £300. I feel it more of a case of margin rather than people don't wanting to pay for. But on the other hand isn't aluminium better conductor of heat than SS? that could also might be reason behind it.

  • Mary Moore was a famous time and telephone recording announcer. I didn't expect someone selling ice cream makers.

It is not said. They are not stupid. They advertise the SS housing, it looks good from outside, it's like this is the most important when you make food of any kind.

When you look at the ice cream container, when she takes it out, it looks like AL. I called the company just to make sure I'm not wrong. Sure enough, they confirmed it is made of ALUMINUM.

I asked why couldn't you make it of SS? They said..."people don't want to pay for, people want inexpensive items". Go figure.

  • @gigiontube when did it say the container was aluminum?

  • SS housing but an aluminum container where the food is churned. Oh, well...

Don't you know by now how toxic aluminum is ? You should know and make the container of SS as well.
