why does it only record longer videos? the longest i got was 30 sec

I already have a camcorder from Canon the HF200 but for making point and shoot pictures i have my ultra compact Casio Exilim EX S12. 12 megapixel camera which also shoots HD video at 720p 24fps. I love both my canon camcorder and my casio compact photo cam.
Nice review but i prefer an unboxing where you don't show yourself but more the item that u unbox from a close up. That would have been nicer...

My last comment was a response to another comment. The camera you have is good. I have one and don't have any complaints except for low light video noise. Not really a problem for me.

There are some bad reviews about the video shooting having a buzz issue. I had one that had the same problem. I exchanged it for this one.

yes only digital zoom is avaliable while filming, But you can zoom in with the optical zoom and then start filming and it works you are just stuck wherever its at once you start recording.

Why did you choose this model over the PowerShot SD780 IS?

Mainly the 780 has a smaller lens that doesnt allow as much light in. Aso it is a 3x zoom vs 4x so a little better there. I like the loos of the 780 better but the 960 is a better camera

Yes they are with the new camera. Just a few shots on the way to and from work. I'm still figuring out all the settings and stuff and what the limitations are.
