Joseph Stalin was responsible for the mass killing of Polish prisoners in Western Russia in 1940 - Russia's parliament accepted the Soviet leader ordered the Katyn massacre that has soured relations between Moscow and Warsaw for years.

Katyń was Stalin`s revenge for 1920 Battle of Warsaw where the Polish Army stopped Soviet Red Army and Lenin lost the chance to conquer Western Europe.

But the Poles killed far more Soviet prisoners during that war than Stalin did in Katyn.

People here are telling one side of story and forget how Stalin led the Red Army and the whole country defeated Germans in WII when Soviet Union was at the blink of collapse! I can't say that there was no Soviet Union if there was no Stalin since the victory was the result of all people, but Stalin's contribution cannot be ignored!

Stalin was secretary of the party, he signed the death list those that are sent from the republics of the Union, but he rejected most of the lists. At the end of his reign, he personally sent into exile, those incompetent managers. Now easier to blame all the dead than to complicate relations with countries which have grown on concerning the propaganda.
