The Fight Nerd was on hand for a special first look of the prototype build for THQ's upcoming Summer video game release, UFC Trainer. Utilizing the Xbox Kinect or Playstation Move, gamers can now legitimately TRANE UFC. THQ developer Arturo Castro walked us through the mechanics of the gameplay and showed us how it works and what it can do, and answered a variety of questions on functionality, gameplay mechanics, replay value, and more on how this hopes to be a great workout for all levels and not just something for beginners.

Also on hand to explain their participation in the game was Scott Ramsdell of the NASM, who added general fitness moves to the game, and Mark Dellagrotte, head coach of the Sityodtong, who was one of the many MMA trainers who are featured as coaches in the game along with Greg Jackson and Javier Mendez.

Please note, the only time I can show the screen is when I show a still picture of it which was approved by THQ. Otherwise, I can not show you the screen in actual gameplay. Enjoy the overview of THQ's UFC Trainer!

  • it would be sick if there was a live for this where you go and fight players online, Smash some trolls and shit haha! ;) But honestly that be sick

  • I purchased this game on a whim and never opened it. I was going to return it today, but intuition made me do some research first. Thank you for changing my mind.

  • Guys,

This product can actually give you a good workout. Problem is that is often freezes, doesn't count pushups well, on the heavy bag it will mistake movement for an actual punch but on the mits it won't always register punches. So if it really monitored your real movements it would be great, but since it freezes and doesn't monitor movement well it is somewhat frustating. Could have been a great product ...too bad.

  • dame this guy is makin the game look bad :O

  • Shadowboxing...for people with too much money

  • hat chick has to breath out when shes throwing the punches...she gonna pop a blood vessel

  • @132music Obviously not this is a game you idiot.

  • i tried it and had my first cage fight and won the videos on my videos..

  • if you looking to get slightly fitter this will work but doing this will never set you up for the cage
