It is easy to describe Solo De Amor in two words: pure love. This contemporary ballet, choreographed to Aaron Copland's music flows gracefully, and sensually -- like a caress. It shows the home-sickness, nostalgia, and yearning for -- your only love, hence its title. The work demonstrates the longing for a lover's presence, caress -- to surrender to his love. The dance culminates in a pose similar to an angel in flight. Solo De Amor was performed at the Benjamin Franklin Library of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. It was also featured on Night by Night (Noche a Noche), a Mexican cultural TV channel, and was shown on British television. Live performances were given at the Theatre of Dance (Teatro de La Danza), Sala Miguel Covarrubias, and other theatres.
Thank you for your beautiful thoughts. This solo was orignally part of a larger dance called Unity of Three. Unfortunately, I lost the dance. The opening was at Benjamin Franklin Library in Mexico, D.F. The dance was recorded and taken to England.
