He is really playing the game himself, 6 months old, no tricks!

I have been weighing my son with Wii Fit since 3 months. The balance board seems to be a fairly accurate scale, and it lets me track his weight automatically. Sometimes I would play some of the balance games with him, me controlling the game by standing him on it, and shifting his weight....he seemed to enjoy it. Yesterday he got cranky standing on it, so I sat him down in front of the board, and then he started leaning on the board with his hands, all on his own. He seemed to find it amusing he could move the thing on the screen by leaning on the board...and then he got the ball in the hole...I was amused...and started the game over...and he did it again....and again! Seemingly faster each time...it was not just random movements accidentally getting the balls in, he seemed to be moving the balls with purpose, and when they did not go the way he wanted, you can hear the crankiness!

He did six games in a row getting at least 2 balls in, once getting four balls in before the time ran out! I was amazed, I hope you are too. :-P

  • I am personally amazed. I've been watching babies and how they learn but have never seen a baby of 6 months have that well developed a perception of movment and use of his body like that. He's probably older now, but would have suggested teaching him sign language for at that age they have a fair understanding of language-just not the ability to make the right sounds yet. He probably would have told you much if he had a technique to communicate.

  • @bodybygigi he is almost 3 now. He was quite good at sign language early on, but lost it as he started to talk (in both English & French). Not too much interest in video games any more, but is pretty good at Mario Cart and Guitar Hero (in Beginner mode). He certainly has shown above average coordination. Zooming around on a 'run bike' since 18 months, completing jigsaw puzzles (rated 5+) since 2 and now is obsessed with some pretty intricate Lego creations (the real stuff, not the baby stuff)

  • Your baby is very cute.

  • My parents have a picture of me holding a NES controller upside down, staring quizzically at the television. This is cute, and he knows what's going on!
