Abby Sunderland, 16-year-old Thousand Oaks, California girl starts solo sail around the globe

Thousand Oaks, Calif. resident Abby Sunderland, 16, aims to break a world record for the youngest person to nonstop solo circumnavigate around the globe. She departed on her journey in her boat, "Wild Eyes," on Saturday January 23 from Marina del Rey. Abby's brother Zac became the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe by yacht in July 2009.

Seriously, an intelligent parent would not allow their 16 year old daughter to drive 900 miles in a car, let alone be at sea, and try to cross the world, and it failed, but the parents are pathetic for allowing it to even START.
