Ive done alot of work on the Demag P series rail hoists, and ive found the conical rotor brakes are not fail safe as they claim, they wear out something fierce, and we had one motor housing crumble apart, and a gearbox too. The Italian Gemicos we didnt have any physical mechanical problems, but lots of electrical control and drive issues.
