You don't need breathe proficiency at all. I never used a sniper class. Mainly MK14 or FAD with Marksman, and I ended up getting the Pro version. Probably cause when I aimed down sight with the assault rifle, I always tend to press in the Movement analog on the controller not really any benefit to the Pro version anyway, if you don't snipe. Being able to see the names from farther distances and having a MK14 + Rapid Fire + Kick does the job very well.
