Governor Romney, in the 2004 Presidential Elections, the Republican Party prided itself on having a candidate that stood by his platforms and decisions versus his opponent who has "flip-flopped" on his views. You, on the other hand, have changed your opinion on multiple issues between your time as governor and Presidential Candidate. Should you receive the Republican nomination, how can you make sure that the Republicans will not be viewed as hypocrites?

  • I think flip-flopping in anyway to get on the higher side of views is bullshit.. Not voicing against you, but what is wrong with people nowadays. Do we really want to go through this shit again?

  • i think hlynnj just answered your stupid question. Just do a little research and you'll see that mitt romney was always pro-life. He has only changed his ideas about how the application of that belief should be applied in public law. He did not flip-flop as a presidential candidate. He simply changed for the better (And this was some time ago). LIke he siad in the debate, if you are looking for a candidate that has never made a mistake, then you better look for someone else.

  • Yes Good question, I heard they're talking about naming a lively just found species of fish after Romney.

  • Part 4. Romney's political opponents and even some left-leaning media organizations are trying to portray Romney as a flip-flopper, a term Romney himself coined in reference to John Kerry when Kerry was running for president. But besides Romney's switch on the issue of abortion, which he has always acknowledged and made no apologies for, what other issue has Romney flip-flopped on?

  • Part 3. After Romney claimed to be a lifelong hunter, an AP reporter called Romney's campaign headquarters to ask his staff when he had been hunting. The staff cited two occasions, which the AP reporter wrongfully construed in his article as the only two times Romney had ever been hunting. This AP report was the basis of several other news stories throughout the country that accused Romney of not being truthful. A day later, Romney set the record straight saying that the AP report was wrong.

  • Part 2. Different people define the issue of "gay rights" differently. Romney has always said that he is not anti-gay. In other words, Romney is vehemently opposed to discrimination/hate crimes against gays. However, gay marriage, according to Romney has nothing to do with gay rights. Gays have the same rights with regards to marriage as heterosexuals. For example, a gay man has the right to marry a woman. I doubt he would want to. But that is his right nevertheless.

  • Part 1. When running for public office, a politician must learn to choose his battles. Romney's promise to maintain the status quo with regards to abortion laws in MA enabled him to get elected and advance several other conservative agendas. The important thing is that a candidate keeps the promises he makes while running for office. Romney kept his promise to maintain the status quo, and even vetoed several pieces of legislation that would have further liberalized abortion in MA.
