Great video of a wonderful project! More folks should be doing things like that as opposed to playing video games.

@captainpegs07 I built a streached to 10 feet one two hundred dollars less engine

It's a cool little speedboat but I don't see any hydroplaning going on, lol.

Those wooden boats always end up costing more than a guy thinks. Can I ask what it cost to build yours?

@captainpegs07 That's true. Of course $ wasn't the issue. I just wanted to create something. It's an addiction or a hobby. If you want a sharp boat built to last like mine, you could spend over $1000 on the boat alone. I probably have about $3000 in the entire rig inc. trailer. You could hack one together in a weekend from scrap and paint it with house paint for $150. It would last one season and look rough, but that was the intent of the original designs in the first place.

Excellent father and son project. This is what parenting is all about. Spending quality time with the son and creating things. Awesome video...

@jeffro1234567891 Thanks so much for the kind words. BTW, the son just passed the fundamentals of engineering exam and has one semester to go on his mechanical engineering degree. I guess some of this paid off. We are still enjoying the little boat four years later. It is still holding up fine. In the meantime, we gutted and completely rebuilt our 17 ft. runabout. It turned out great. We learned a lot from building this little boat.

where to get plans?

@MrPinhead11 Do a web search for "minimost." There are several sites devoted to this model that have copies of the "Science and Mechanics" magazine article from September 1962.
