it's saying: "Direct3D Init FAILED" and "DirectDraw Init FAILED"

I use CCS64 it's great.

I, myself, very much prefer WinVICE64 over CCS64, though.
And gb64.com is also an excellent source of C64 games.

Yeah. I don't really know what makes it legal to emulate games, but I think it's legal if you already own the games/tapes.
