Chicago Overture 2

I Always love playing this song so thought i'd try it out again but try and do it better than the last video, I think i've improved a bit on it.... although I didn't do as well as I hoped for!

Thank you very much :) Yeah it's all by ear, everything I do is.... I'm hopeless at reading dots, its easier to do it by ear! However I am trying to get better at the whole reading music thing.

how long did it take to learn it all, i am thinking about just watching it a million times and writing all of the notes down

I can't really say how long it would take to learn it, because for me I find it easy to play by ear. I just listend to the london cast recording of the overture a couple of times, then tried to pull it off and just got better at it each time I played it.

I do it different everytime I play it, I recommend you don't listen to my version but listen to the proper soundtrack (film or show) version and just keep listening and try and pick the piano part out. If only I could read music! lol

Yeah it's a briliant song!... but sorry, I can't do that as I didn't learn it from sheet music or anything, I just listen to the proper thing then play it from what I think it goes like... I'm terrible at reading music, everything I do is done by ear i'm afraid. But it does say all this in video info.

Just wanted to say - I'm playing the piano/conductor book of the show right now, and you're terrific on this. Honestly, you're playing so much more of the difficult stuff that comes from the other instruments (and actually that's TWO pianos you're hearing on the soundtrack, you would have no problem playing the piano book for the Broadway orchestration.
