it goes down to 84. After the procedure today, she has had trouble breathing so they had to increase her oxygen level from 3 to 5. I'm sure she is also anxious, so they are going to give her some anxiety pills to calm her down.
my mom had it done this morning. She has lung cancer and has had trouble breathing for a couple days. Oncologist doesn't know why. It's not the chemo, even though that could be a part of it. She went to the ER two days ago and is under a pulmonologist. Her oxygen saturation is low when she walks. She gets very fatigued and can barely walk 10 steps without breathing hard. and thats with the oxygen on her. Her saturation when sitting down/laying down is around 95, but when she starts to walk.
@MisterAaronRodriguez I have pulmonary fibrosis and was hospitalized for low oxygen saturation and trouble breathing. They did the bronchoscopy to find out what type of pneumonia I had, and also to confirm whether or not I had pulmonary fibrosis. The procedure might be helpful in your case. I'm not really sure. Have you discussed this with your doctor? Wish I could be of more help.
@radioqueen46 if you don't mind me asking, why did you get the procedure done? I was looking into this procedure to see if there wasn't anyway that they might be able to identify the source of my asthma... do you know if this procedure is useful for that?
I had a bronchoscopy about a year ago. It wasn't too bad. Not my idea of an entertaining time, but it was survivable. I was awake thru the whole thing and had a quick and easy recovery time. If I have to have another I know it's not too bad. The worst part for me was the prep. They numbed my throat which is a very weird feeling. :)

I had one recently . Through the procedure I was asleep and whilst in recovery had no feelings of anaesthesia in my throat or further down.

The pour water in to take a sample of anything that is growing there. They will suction it all out at the end
