Maybe Verne would be one of the greatest if he didn't get drowsy during random parts of the game or whatever it is that CONSTANTLY causes him to mispronounce player names, be unaware of what's going on the field, or forget basic rules of college football

@StuartAllgood Verne Lundquist is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, football announcers to have ever lived. His excitement, his enthusiasm, and his respect for not just the sport but all of the young men playing the game is something that is decidedly lacking in football today and I only wish before he did pass away that someone would come along and take many lessons from him. You could learn a thing or two about respect yourself.
