Ochin, ochin krashevo! One of the most poetic photovideos I have ever seen...people being one with the land, earth and faces and grassy meadows, trees and animals, and snow on the mountains in the background, and the endless Russian sky...an integral whole...what an experience! Cpasibo!

Remarkable pictures, as lovely as landscape paintings! And the faces are exquisite!

it is strange, as the Old Believers on the territory of Russia wear beards, its man energy and they dont shave, this guys may be living separately from the civilisation like the Old-believers but i am not sure they have the same religion, it could be some specific cult, but any way all the Old-believers or Trdicionalists wear beards...

For those wondering - this village is in Tuva Republic, directly above border with Mongolia.

I got to go visit one of these villages one time we stoped there on a tour if I remember right it was out past Ullan Ude the visit was really brief though we stoped at a home and ate a fairlly large meal and a singing group performed for us but this is what i really would have loved to have seen and photographed this video is alot more personal than what i got to see

Thank you for posting this very interesting video.
Do you know the book "Hermit in the taiga" about a family of old believers in the taiga who had successfully avoided contacts with 'civilization' ?
But the people in this village seem to be wearing contemporary clothes ( the men at least ).

Yes clothing is gifts and the best way to start a relationship. Yes I have readed that book many years ago.

This villiage will one day, sadly, be only a memory of those few who have seen it. It is sad that the good places fade away whilst the not so good places continue to grow and thrive - this touched my heart in many places I hope that a few of the descendents of these people return someday to this tiny place that time forgot - if they wpuld only understand it is probably better than wherever they are now.

Thank you for your wonderful comment. Actually many places like this are protected by law in national parks and reserves. It's even illegal for western missionary and there Protestants to visit them. They like to destroy there culture and faith and call them savages who need to be converted. Thought the American's criticize this law for being agianst religious freedom. I seen them after many native faiths in Russia. Calling Orthodox, Islam Shamanic,Buddhism and other faiths barberic.
