I have bees in a tree. I posted an ad on Craigslist that somebody needs to come get these bees or they die. Jake Hunter, a part time beekeeper, responded and now he is in the process of removing the bees from a tree in my yard. This video was taken on 02 Nov 2009. The cone over the hole in the tree, that the bees use to come and go out of, is made out of window screen material with the tip snipped off, thus creating what Jake calls "a one-way bee door". It is stapled and pinned over the hole in the tree. The bee hive box on the table next to the tree gave the bees someplace to move into. The bees are in the process of "re-queening". This takes a few weeks. The next step is to remove the "cone" so the bees in the hive box will go and "rob" the honey from the tree and take it back to the hive box...leaving the queen bee in the tree abandoned and alone. It is all a very interesting process.
