As of Oct. 11th, Light, sweet crude for November delivery was down $US3.85 to $US82.74 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York. Energy watchdog International Energy Agency has already slashed its forecasts for oil demand over the next two years, by 240,000 barrels a day this year and 440,000 barrels a day in 2009.

Oh yes, Drill Baby Drill! Drill offshore, so we can kill plenty of ecosystems for endangered aquatic species and won't even get a drop of oil for 10 years! Drill in Alaska, so that we can destroy our beautiful sub-Polar envioronment! Make sure you don't drill near Palin's house, though: it might block her view of Russia!

This just seems wrong on sooo many levels... How desperate must we be to try this hard to maintain the status quo when there are so many viable alternatives to invest in?

It's easier to chant than it is to change but I think Americans are up to the challenge.

We dont have to lift a finger to "stop big oil"... they have already put themselves out of the fuel business. Oil's ONLY future in this great nation is as a manufacturing material & even that will be a short venture given our actual future. REAL alternatives have already put the inevitable nails in Oil-Fuel's coffin.
