@OccamsKatana It is Myers who is misrepresenting fact and I can prove it. He is preaching an outdated gene centric view and ignoring the current data. After all this (white stuff in the middle) BS He goes on to contradict himself and admits that regulatory roles have been known about for fifty years. What he doesn't tell you is that neo Darwinist largely ignored this data and he continues to do so even today.

@OccamsKatana How do you know we have a common ancestor? I know it has been asserted but where is the empirical evidence? Why do you think that the members of the Altenberg 16 who are evolutionary biologist as well as other scholars are trying to relax the assumptions of the modern synthesis including universal common descent? Why do you think that even people who believe in the concept of evolution are challenging the neo Darwinian synthesis/ the theory of evolution?

@benthemiester - you are misrepresenting the honest critisism by Evolutionary Biologist.
The critisism they deliver is different from that of Creationists (ID is creationism)
The part of Evolution that says we all have a common ancestor and that things evolve by means of natural selection (not solely) is still 100% true and will remain true no matter what.

@OccamsKatana I'm not sure why my response got threaded multiple times.
When did I mention creation? Its odd that u would say that if u yourself see no other alternative. I dont know if evolution is false. Who knows? Maybe someday in the future someone may construct a really solid theory that can explain it. However as of now, we have a very piss poor theory, & it is being challenged not only by creationist and ID'ers, but even by many prominent evolutionary biologist, atheist & agnostic alike.

@benthemiester - I dont think you are joking. I think It doesnt matter.
You do understand that disproving evolution doesnt do a THING for creation?
Not that you could "disprove" something so factually proven but w/e.

Did PZ Myers say that the genome is not densely packed with information? PZ Myers has not seemed to have kept up with current data. I can cite several peer review article in journals like Nature and others that refute this mans claim. What was once thought of as useless junk (or as PZ calls it, the white stuff in the middle) is now known to exhibit functional roles, such as gene expression, gene regulation, generation of genetic (antibody, antigenic) and many other important functions.

Very interesting talk, thanks for uploading! The bottom line: the human genome is like a badly fragmented hard drive.
