There's Music on These Walls!

A Steinway rosewood piano is hung on the wall of the Evelyn and Burt Lavis Promenade of the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning. The concept was devised by KPMB Architects, and the piano comes from The Royal Conservatory archive. It has a cracked sound board making it unplayable.

Steinway Serial No. 17732 is a New York Grand Style 3 Rosewood Early Parlor Grand shipped to a customer a Brooklyn, New York on September 21, 1877. It weighs 750lbs and is 8'5" (2566 mm) in length.

This piano design was called the Centennial Piano in honor of the US centennial of 1876. The piano design debuted April 17, 1876. It has been released as a limited edition and is called: The William E. Steinway Limited Edition.

It would be quite interesting if you were to hang a piano on a wall reachable from the ground, allowing visitors of the building site to actually play the piano from outside. Then again, that would be prone to obvious disrepair, but it's a concept :P
