3/17/2007 Numerous car accidents on icy road caught on tape

Six out of more than twelve accidents on an icy interstate bridge on I-64 are caught on camera. Six cars and SUVs lose control and spin out, some hitting the barrier hard with bumpers falling off and sparks flying. A tractor trailer slides and recovers. Several very close calls with tractor trailers and other vehicles round out this intense and dramatic sequence. Police finally shut down the highway and the disabled cars are loaded onto flatbed trucks.

The thing is, a lot of these crashes could be lessened if people would not lay on the brakes during the slide a lot of times you can regain control a lot faster if you just let off on the gas and ride it out rather than braking.

THE REASON WHY THE JEEP DIDN"T CRASH.. Not because its all wheel drive but being an offroad car its great to have but its nothing without a good suspension.

im a Truck driver.. i see this stuff every year, and i always see the same thing people who dont know wtf they r doin n think just cuz they have a fancy expensive car/suv with 4 wheel drive n think that makes them unstoppable..lmao ya always see brake lights.. thats they first an last mistake.. im not sayin i never spun out b4 just never kept my foot on brake either but hell beind raised in Ny.. ya learn fast
