The Pre has a more robust processor (Cortex A9 I think) while the Pixi doesn't. So, the pre's is still more powerful than the Pixi's, but the Pixi's is more quick, if that makes sense.
Heat and battery issues. The Pre is fast enough as it is. The lagging people complain about is contributed from webOS, its a new platform and bugs are still being worked out on it. You will see updates to optimize the performance of webOS.
Also why would they give you more speed from the hardware for free? They could be saving it for their next phone. 100 more mhz and $100 more on the price of the device. Its all about making money.
So the pre's is more for loading many stuff and the pixi is for loading less but faster?

Is it possible that Palm would release an update for the Pre only to use all of it's processor?
cowkong 2 years ago
The Pre is down clocked to try to conserve battery life.
