Helicopter vs Helicopter Dogfight - DCS Black Shark

I'm flying a campaign in DCS Black Shark when a rare thing happens: I merge with an enemy Mi-24 Hind. After I take him out, another one attacks me. This was very rare as usually my air-to-air battles are stand-offs with Vikhrs. Most of the first battle is me trying to put the Shkval on the Hind, eventually I go for a slew-'n-spray strategy that works. The same strategy also makes short work of the second helicopter. You can see what the 30-mm does to a helicopter in close range. :)

Very painful to watch ;) You could have downed the buzzer much sooner. Basically when you use shkval to lock only when the target is more than 1,5 km away and easy to follow. When closer/very hard to follow with the cursor you switch to fixed gun (just Backspace and then make sure you have the cannon selected) and you >close the distance< to get a kill ASAP. You could have sprayed at him from within 500 m without any problems. Long burst, high rate of fire.

@Tome4kkkk You're right; I've never been in this situation before so I didn't really have a clue what to do. I've gotten some good advice here and on the DCS: BS forums; I'm going to launch the track, take control, and give it another go when I get off work.

good thing theyve made ka52 a 2-seater. its way too hard to pilot it and deal with your targets all at once

I'm curious why you wouldn't use the Track Moving Target function (whatever it's actually called) ? It works for tracking Ground Moving Targets so why not Slow Moving Air Targets ? I'm honestly curious because I plan to start using BS 2 soon (already installed).
