DANCING NANNA IS FOUND!
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Welcome to the tale of what became an international 'manhunt' searching for an unlikely hero named Melva; an 83 year old nanna from Tauranga, New Zealand who stole the hearts and minds of people around the world when she was caught on camera in Mandurah, Western Australia dancing to a Brow Horn Orchestra show with such swagger, youth and spark she would become the envy of any dance floor that dared support her nimble feet.
The Brow Horn Orchestra's management JumpClimb posted the clip up on YouTube with one goal to try and track down the funky grandmother and fly her back to Perth in time for the band's next show after initial false leads pointed to her living in Tasmania, Australia. The band and management said if such a fete was doable, they'd love to have her star in their next music video and it was this the final ingredient that procured something equivalent, media wise, to a Mentos in soda water.

Local newspaper the West Australian and commercial radio station Nova 937 jumped on board in the search whilst online forums and social media sites buzzed at the clip of Melva fondly named 'The Dancing Nanna' and the task at hand. When Melva was finally tracked down, only a week later and 9000 hits to her name, she was suddenly pushed into further stardom after her wonderful personality came to life during a phone interview with Nova 937.

A New Zealand Current Affair program, TV3's Campbell LIVE jumped on board asking Melva on the show to dance to one of Brow Horn's previous singles 'Goliath' and all of a sudden literally overnight she became the talk of her home country as well. With the prospect of flights to get Melva back to Perth now looking rather hefty for JumpClimb (only a very small management and events company) to pay for, Jetstar came the rescue and sponsored Melva's return trip and accommodation for her and daughter Tina, to fly back to Perth so Melva could tick one more amazing achievement (to star in a music video) in an her already compelling life. That is to say if you agree that going skydiving on your 80th birthday is nothing short of phenomenal!
So on the 11th June, 2011 in the warm surrounds of iconic North Fremantle local music venue Mojo's Bar, Melva became the night's guest of honour at the sold out show with bands from around Australia joining in the fun as hip hop soul number 'King' off The Brow Horn Orchestra's debut EP was captured live on camera.
Behind the scenes was reported by TV3 who sent a camerman John Fleming over from New Zealand to ride Melva's path to stardom:

@mackinasack hey squire first song you hear is actually not brow horn; it's on a mixtape the lead singer released under his DJ pseudonym NDORSE called Sweet Definitive by the wonderful Flevans.
However we think you're talking about 20 seconds in - which is a track called Dreams Do Come & Go. Trying to post links up but youtube won't seem to let it post with links at the moment.
