Can you please show this same explanation with the foot work?
Thank you!

@entertaichi from the way you explain things you sound like you have a degree in a math related subject- or have at least taken the basic physics courses- am I wrong? Either way I have enjoyed these vids.

this guy obviously had a very good teacher and he brings in his own ability to explain thinks in a way everybody understands. This is actually one of the few videos I see where the Bong Sao is shown in the correct way and explained properly in his application.

@akirahojo2 Try not to do bong sao by yourself.Basically non technik must work with thought but they depend on the pressure. Here i think the punch is too high (i look the elbow)so he could just hit from inside. That means no technik is needed. But this punch for me is wrong cause is like a hammer.Push front initially and then hit like hammer. In my opinion bong usually comes when the opponents elbow is low and his force go down .

@akirahojo2 - your legs and kneecap energy must be fully developed along with your spine posture or else the bong will collapse under slight pressure, not to mention against much heavier people. If all the fundamentals are mastered, your basic techniques will be able to manage enormous pressure as they were designed to do in the first place.

Who did you learn your WC from and where do you train?
A good insight. My question: can bong sau still be used against an opponent who is much taller than you? It seems the contact point, especially your elbow, may not be able to sustain the amount of pressure coming from a higher position going downwards. Can you do an example of bong sau being used against a much taller opponent?

@akirahojo2 Hi I am not the sifu in the video , I am the guy being used in the video :)
I am 5'8 I teach guys who are much taller than me and never had a problem using a bong. Because the way the bong is structured your opponents energy is being displaced so it isn't directly going into you. Rather its more like going to the left or right of you. So you never feel the pressure coming down on you. What you describe can really only happen if you are using your shoulder and not your wrist.

@entertaichi thanks mate, I have to give this a few tries (concentrating on the wrist rotation rather than the shoulders). How would you differentiate Lan Sau compared to Bong Sau. In some parts of this video series, the Sifu uses the Bong Sau vertically, isn't that essentially a Lan Sau?

@akirahojo2 I believe a Lan Sau is - bar arm where a bong sau is a wing arm. If you watch the video and take notice of the elbow position in relation to the wrist I think you will see that it is a bong. A bong sao could turn into a lan sao. I feel both techniques are just transition techniques. The emphasis of both techniques is controlling and distributing the pressure. Really all of the wing chun movements are meant to flow together smoothly.
