  • I have a question hopefully someone can answer.

In the sentence: I'm looking for the Prague Castle, how come there is no "the" in the Czech sentence? "Hledam Prazsky hrad."

  • Because "The" is definite article but czech language hasn´t definite article. We say only "hledám Pražský hrad" and everybody know that you mean Pražský hrad in Prague.

With "a" is a same. You say "a table". You don´t know which table narrowly. And when you say "the table" you know it. But in Czech, we say only "stůl".

So, in czech we haven´t it and I like it because this is simpler and in English I have a problem with "the" and "a".

I hope you understand me (=

    Ahoj

  • @Godja like in russian))))

  • I always wanted to hear the difference in pronouciation of H and CH in Czech language. I am a Pole. In Polish H and CH we pronouce it the same. Someone told that we pronouce CH. Sound of H dissappeared in Polish some centuries ago. That is why Czech people hear what to write: H or CH, but in Poland we have lern words by hart. This is like in Czech language Y dissapeared and Czech pronoce I and Y like i.

  • Thanks! I was loosing any hopes to learn some basic Czech but your system is very easy and clear.I would love to own a home in such a gorgeous country but until now the language barrier has been horrible.Czech is super difficult and although I speak and write 8 languages I find it bordering with impossible.Great job !! and thanks again....

  • Czech is so easy I can understand almost everything maybe Cause I'm Croatian.

  • LOL you know instead of saying ahoj you can say čou its the same as ahoj hehe

  • yeah I am from czech republic but czech is not easy :D

  • Ahoj,

  • Anee,

your videos are good but it seems that you are teaching more English than Czech, you should repeat more the Czech phrases and slower....ahoj!
