I agree with every on this one. I liked this movie when I was a kid. However, watching it now I cringe at the dated look of the film and Bill Murray's acting ( ebert is right Murray does not look like he is having fun). The ending of the film is stupid.
hah, Ebert is such a contrarrian here, and obviously his initial impressions of the film got magnified when somebody felt they were unjustified. Just a classic argument where one person tried to impose his opinion a bit too strongly onto another just because of a difference of opinion. This is more about ego than about the film, the film is one of Bill Murray's classics.
@Teenageboy100 Nah...I know the story of Christmas Carol, and the whole Scrooge element. But the longer they made him mean, the funnier it was. He softens a bit too early in the film for me, and that is where it could have been better.
But I do love this movie. It's funny, mean, has great special effects (that's Charlie from Charlies Angel's as his dead boss. Not recognisable at all) and I really do enjoy it.
@DTVPRESENTS What are the 1st-8th best?
