Train 1:
Seen from the front of a Pace route #307 bus, Soo Line GP38-2 #4445 and Canadian Pacific GP40 #4609 bring a Clearing-to-Bensenville transfer west on the Milwaukee District West Line across Harlem Avenue.
Train 2:
An inbound Metra Milwaukee District West Line train of 5 cars passes the CP freight, pushed by F40PH #109, the "Village of Robbins".
Train 3:
Running left-handed due to trackwork in the area, F40C #611 leads just four cars on an outbound MD-W Line run to Elgin. The first camera angle does not do it justice, but the grade crossing here is at an extremely shallow angle to Grand Avenue- the gates and bells trigger far sooner than at other crossings, and traffic must stop at a greater distance from the tracks. Still, there are many accidents (and near-accidents) here.
Train 4:
The sunny sky has clouded over as CP ES44DC #8717 and SD60 #6053, and Soo GP38-2 #4431 and SD60 #6028 lead a long mixed freight west.
Train 5:
Most of the freight has passed by the time an inbound Metra train makes its station stop at Elmwood Park. Two Budd-built former cab-cars are behind the lead car, and MP36PH-3S #424 pushes.
Trains 5 and 6:
It's about to start raining as an outbound Metra North Central Service train on the center main, of four cars led by MP36 #417, passes an inbound MD-W train. The inbound is the same consist as earlier, with 611 pushing this time. It nears its first inbound stop in Chicago proper, at Mont Clare.
~Thanks for watching!~
Ah! The infamous crossing where a bunch of idiots stopped on the tracks and blamed the design of the crossing for it.
