Moonlight was inspired by the great composer Ludwig Van Beethoven and his masterpiece "Moonlight Sonata," written for piano. It was written for piano, of course, because the electric cello had yet to be invented...

"I used both of my 5-string electric cellos (one tuned extra high and one extra low) and the acoustic cellos to give this piece a unique feel and a high level of emotion.

I used another melody from Beethoven -- try and guess what it is (guess before you scroll down to the credits where it is listed!) It starts at 1:21 and reoccurs throughout the tune. This melody happened spontaneous in the studio and saved the tune from a bad case of writer's block." -Steven Sharp Nelson

  • 1:38 - 2:17 drives me crazy

  • i love how he smacks the cello

  • This should be used for a movie. Incredible!! :D

  • @Mythazz Indeed, I have. But I refuse to believe it's that simple.

  • Of all their videos, this is probably my favorite one, with the cello song being a close second. Just so much awesome, words can't explain it.

  • I have found my new theme song lol

  • @itsAsian513 I may be wrong, but I think those are salt flats. They look like snow, but are solid salt, and thus aren't necessarily cold.

  • why does one of them look like Mr. Bean?

  • 232 people obviously do not appreciate one of Beethoven's finest melodies (7th symphony, 2nd mvmt) D;
