@morena1022 I'm not being touchy. I think you're misinformed and I'm just letting you know how involved she has been in the gay, black, and white community. I'm not judging you or anyone. You're the one asking if I'm a "tragic mulatto". I love Jennifer because she is a great representative of humanity as a whole.

@yanitla1687: And I don't understand why you're getting so touchy. I gave it a thumbs up but was merely saying that she isn't as 'I'm a sister and proud' as other mixed actresses like Halle Berry, etc. It's funny that you're watching a speech given by GLAAD, which is supposed to be an inspirational organization and being so damn judgemental. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Now, are you a tragic mulatto who takes this personal? Because God doesn't need an assistant. Stop judging.

@morena1022 I don't understand your logic in your statement. She asked to have her character on the L word be biracial like her self. She can't help how fair skinned or curly her hair is. She actually publicly campaigned for Obama and has been very open about being half black, since the days of Flash Dance. She has played a Black woman in some very good movies. Spike Lee's Devil in A Blue Dress, Feast of All Saints, the show Lie to Me and others. Watch her speech again and Listen this time.

I have to say that I gave this speech a 'thumbs up', I have to say that I am on the fence with Jennifer Beals. Unlike Obama and Halle Berry, she tends to deny her black side and is VERY distant with the Black community. She's played roles representing herself as a 'curly haired white girl.' I believe that she was set up to speak at an African-American charity event and backed out. Now, as much as I say this, I will still say that she is a 'kick ass actress' and I loved her in L-Word too.
