A loving portrait of 89 year-old Evanston, Illinois artist/activist Peggy Lipschutz. Peggy pioneered the "chalk-talk" coupling live drawing with folk music to make a social statement. This is a 9-minute clip of a forthcoming documentary by Jerri Zbiral, Sharon Karp, Mark Rogovin, Alan Teller and Sylvia Malagrino. Some wonderful friends and I saw her recently in the audience of a folk show in Evanston. A legend, a true star!

I like what she says, 'I'm into politics - that means people, caring about people.' So simple. I am glad to see her work, a video I am happy to not have missed, meant a lot to me.

Finally Peggy can rest on her laurels a bit, now that this wonderful film tells a bit of her story. Those of us who have enjoyed her across 60 years of performances must consider ourselves lucky - and this film captures her so well!!

What a blast! It's wonderful to watch her working. And what a variety of styles!
I found one of her comments especially profund: that she aims to create only such works as are true, strong, and beautiful, all three; and that she'll decline a project if any of those three is missing.
