  • Feels too fast. When the music is too fast you don't have enough time to emote and really sing on the vowels. Which is essential with Purcell.

    Good job though.

  • It's been a while since I worked on this song, but I think the fast pace was due to a breath control issue. If I did it slower, I didn't have enough breath to sing through the entire phrase. Goes to show how one technical issue can affect the way the whole song is performed. If I get a chance to work on it again, I'll work on the tempo. Thanks for commenting!!

  • Thanks for commenting!!

  • Thanks for posting this, I have to sing it in my music class and wasn't sure how the high part sounded!

  • You're welcome. (-:

  • You started out with a wonderful open space that made your tone sound mature and full. By the word "food" you closed off that space, and your tone quality became very narrow and nasal. There were moments in the song you regained this yawn type space with your soft palate lifted, but it wasn't consistent. Good job on memorization, and keep up the good work.

  • Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm always happy to get constructive criticism. Consistency is one of the things I'm constantly working on....maybe I'll get it eventually. (-:

  • Great job and yeah, feel it's too fast.

  • This is the solo version of the song. She did an okay job but does need to work on it. Has potiental though. Keep working at it!

  • omg! afwul! listen to the alfred deller version and pleaaaase read about the period of purcell and dowland. Pianoversion is just afwull and the tempo of the song is waaaay to fast!

  • Hey there! I thought it was a good performance! I'm doing this for an audition for an arts school, but am having difficulty finding the scores, is this a specific version of this song? I'm intending to do this version. Do you think you can send me the sheet music for this piece? Or tell me where it is currently on sale? Thanks! =)

  • You definitely have a talent and potential to develop into a great singer. Thanks for posting the song.
