Russian Christmas Music is a pillar in the wind band repertoire and has established Alfred Reed as one of the most important composers for symphonic band and wind ensemble in the last half of the 20th Century. Here Colonel Arnald Gabriel, retired director of the U.S. Air Force Band, is the guest conductor of the St. Louis Wind Symphony in a January, 2011 concert.
Omg my high school covered this piece twice in my 4 years of band. Honestly one of my favorite pieces we ever did

Not a technically difficult piece........but it requires the musicians to play with nice quality sound. It's good to show off the quality of players in a band and showcase the true art of making a piece of music come to life.

my HS band played this for UIL concert contest back in the late 70s. It was a fun piece! One of our sax players took on english horn for this piece. He did a very nice job! Good memories
