I'm a big fan of your work Steve, and I think ur hilarious and ver knowledgable about hockey. I am a Flyers fan and I am just interested in what exactly u thought was dirty about the Mike Richards hit. Imo i thought it was a pretty legit hit.

Watching the replay, it seemed late, but I'm not sure how late it was. In terms of that, it's either clean or inconclusive. But the head-hunting bugged me. Looking at Richard's form heading into the hit, he was not bracing for a shoulder to shoulder hit, IMO. His stance would have been more upright, rather than forward. That, and he decked the head preeeetty cleanly. Some say Booth should have been looking , and they're right, but I thought it was a head shot. That said, I'm a Richards fan

I think what he was trying to say was the Canucks started then, and that's why their streak is shorter... I still say it's worse than the Leafs, but not much worse.

We have out-played the opponent in 3 games...but Price, Lundqvist and Luongo were unbeatable...and our goalies were just so-so.

This is going to be a long season...Komisarek may be the most over-paid player in the entire NHL..he hasn't been the same since Lucic beat him like a circus monkey.

I think the Leafs will do better when they get a break from the officials calling everything against the Leafs and basically nothing against the other team. I saw at least 5 interference plays, 2 too many men and the glove over the puck in the crease, should have been called. And even some of the calls against the Leafs were questionable, Primeau hit the guy in the side, the guy just twisted to make it look like a hit from behind, and a double minor for highsticking? hardly any blood, if any.

I think the problem w/ the coaching staff, is that they have historically been a defense-first staff..and now they have been asked to be the opposite..w/ shit forwards and a defense who is primarily a defensive unit, except for Kaberle, who oddly enough has been our best defensive d-man....

I'll tell you who is having fun watching this "misery"...Peter Chiarelli...he'll be sending Kessel a Christmas card this December.

I can't argue against any of those points...especially the move Burke made for Kessel...that was an unforgivable trade, two first round picks for a player of his calibre is unheard of...then a second round pick thrown in for good measure...awful.

I am surprised that your team has played decent w/o Markov..I thought they would suck balls w/ him gone, but Bergeron has stepped right in admirably.

the team was bad at the begining of the season because it took time for all the new players to learn to play with each other, now they do & look at the results..4 win streak so far, Cammalleri is a beast, Gionta too. Plekanec is doing great, Bergeron is awesome on the powerplay. The team was bad at the begining of the season but now everything's changed..Lets just hope your leafs come out of this misery, i had fun watching it for a bit but honestly i cant help feel bad at a certain point..

Because Brian Burke is trying to make the ducks elsewhere but failed miserably..Nobody can make something decent out of the leafs sadly..Komisarek was just plain horrible & stupid with the habs and he went & signed him for twice as much as he should be worth, and Kessel is not gonna make much difference..Even if you had Crosby or Ovechkin in yout team, you still need more players than that to win. They need good chemistry & a good coaching staff too..

Thanks for the reply steve. I love how you take time to answer ur fans' questions. I do have to say, however, that Scott Stevens made a career of shoulder to head hits (i.e. Lindros, Kariya) but nobody ever called him out on it. I'm glad that u and I both can appreciate the talent and grit of a true hockey player. :) Keep up the good work.

you can't say we're playing shit yet. when we haven't seen kessel yet and gustavsson play at 100 percent. and to those saying we not getting a first round pick this year. we already did (kessel). and you never know the low picks can be very good(if we're lucky), look at datsyuk. I know I sound like Burke. but it's true. and we're one of the most unlucky team, because we basically had the same team last year but with a hyped up defense and we're doing worst. HOW COULD WE BE DOING WORST!!!!!!!!?
